Cutter Suction Dredge
Nu Enterprise Cutter Suction Dredge
The Nu Enterprise Cutter Suction Dredge is a Neumann Series 250 Series 300mm dredge built by Neumann Equipment in the 1980s. Since then, it has undergone numerous refurbishments, upgrades and improvements. The operational expertise built on our contract dredging experience enables us to improve our equipment constantly. This culture of innovation gives us the leading edge as dredging contractors of choice.
The Nu Enterprise has evolved into a high technology cutting and recovery machine and has a well-earned reputation for performance and reliability in channel maintenance dredging, capital works marine dredging, and mining and resource dredging.
The dredge is demountable and can be cost-effectively transported to remote sites around Australia and overseas. In addition, the use of this dredge has proven to be a safe and cost-effective method on mine sites for the relocation or reprocessing of tailings.
The Nu Enterprise Cutter Suction Dredge has been successfully used to remove sand, muds, silts, slimes, and mine tailings.
In harbour and river works, where the cutter suction dredge might encounter a variety of natural and dumped materials, Neumann dredges have proven their versatility.
Neumann’s extensive dredging experience also makes our dredges highly suited for various material types often encountered in flood prevention and environmental rehabilitation works.
The Nu Enterprise has worked on the following Projects:
- Coomera River Dredging Channel Maintenance Dredging,
- Broadwater Parklands Channel Maintenance Dredging and Reclamation Works,
- Superior Coal Tailings Dredging,
- Tallebudgera Creek Channel Maintenance Dredging and Beach Nourishment,
- Currumbin Creek Channel Maintenance Dredging and Beach Nourishment,
- and many more…

Liddell Bottom Ash Dredging
Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) Maintenance
AGL Macquarie engaged Neumann Contractors to dredge coarse bottom ash (Clinker) from a temporary storage facility to a permanent storage location at the Liddell Power Station. The dredging works consisted of pumping approx. 130,000 m3 of bottom ash (clinker), a distance of 650m with an elevation of 20 metres to a permanent storage facility.
Superior Coal Tailings Dredging
Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) Maintenance
Neumann Dredging were engaged as Dredging Contractors to carry out the dredging works to clear a pond 150 meters wide, 650 meters long of coal tailings that washed in over several years. The coal tailings, ranging from fine silt to approximately 70mm in size, were pumped to a screening and washing plant for recovery and then placed in stockpiles in the coal storage area.
Tallebudgera & Currumbin Creeks Dredging
Navigational Channel Maintenance,
River and Waterways,
Coastal Protection/Beach Nourishment.
The annual dredging program for Tallebudgera and Currumbin Creeks. This is part of an ongoing dredging campaign undertaken by the Council to optimise flood mitigation measures and tidal interchange within the creek systems. Neumann’s have been winning the 2 year contracts by tender and have successfully completed the annual dredging campaigns for 14 years.
